Files: FBI Was Warned of 2009 Arivaca Home Invasion

ARIVACA - The FBI reportedly was told that a border-watch group leader was planning a home invasion in the Arivaca area weeks before a man and his 9-year-old daughter were shot to death in the southern Arizona town.

The Arizona Daily Star says it looked at documents filed this week in Pima County Superior Court. The newspaper says the documents show that two confidential FBI informants claim they told agents in April 2009 that Shawna Forde was recruiting people to raid a house she believed was filled with illicit drugs, money and guns.

The 42-year-old Forde and two men were arrested shortly after the May 30, 2009, home invasion. All three have been charged with first-degree murder and prosecutors are seeking the death penalty.

An FBI spokesman says the bureau received the information "after the fact" and declines further comment because the case has yet to go to trial.
