Hungry Howie's Robber Sentenced to 10 Years

MESA - Sentencing was Tuesday for the man who robbed a Valley restaurant and left its manager for dead.

As part of a plea agreement, Jenkins Hightower pleaded guilty to one count of attempted murder in the first degree.

A judge sentenced Hightower to 10-and-a-half years in prison.

Back in December 2006, Hightower robbed a Hungry Howie's restaurant in Mesa. He stole just over $250 dollars, then forced the manager to the floor and shot him in the back.

The victim survived, the crime caught on surveillance camera.

Hightower was identified by his unique tattoo.
