PHOENIX - What does Oscar-winning actor and director Clint Eastwood and an Arizona candidate have in common? A first name.

Clint Van Wuffen is running for office in Arizona, and he appears to be trying to cash in on Eastwood's fame to get himself elected in Arizona's 6th congressional district -- but one of his campaign signs has Eastwood threatening legal action!

Eastwood's attorneys are not happy with a sign that reads -- "Clint, as in Eastwood, Van Wuffen."

Van Wuffen says that his whole life, he's used the nickname Clint Eastwood. So when he decided to run for office for the first time, he designed these signs.

"I was actually named after Clint Eastwood, the first Dirty Harry movie, so it stuck," he says.

In an email to FOX 10, Eastwood's team says they want Van Wuffen to immediately stop using Eastwood's name.

Van Wuffen says he has 42 of these Eastwood signs hanging in different places around the valley. He plans to cover the name or take them down.

"I certainly don't want to offend anybody or break any rules, and if Clint Eastwood is offended I'd be happy to take the signs off."

FOX 10's Miriam Garcia has more.
