SANTIAGO, Chile - A group of students from Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale were in Santiago, Chile when the earthquake struck.
The 40-some students were in a hotel when the building started shaking. Photos show there was some damage to the hotel -- but their professor says they are far from the worst of it.
"Some plaster fell, some TV sets fell to the ground, but the hotel is still structurally sound... in fact I think we're getting an aftershock right now," said Professor Roy Nelson in a phone call Sunday afternoon.
Nelson says the hotel has a backup power generator and hot water and that everyone is in good spirits.
None of the students were hurt. They're expected to return home to the states in a few days. The group was in Chile for a 1-week, intensive international business study program.
