TEMPE, Ariz. - The fall semester starts for Arizona State University students this Thursday, so this weekend it was moving day for thousands of coeds moving into the dorms.
About 11,000 students will start moving into their residence halls over the next four days, and Saturday was the beginning of Welcome Week.
Parents and students arrived with computers, mini fridges -- you name it. Some of the halls were built so long ago there are no elevators, so professional movers were called in to help, something everyone was happy about.
“I hope he does well. It’s also sad for mom to see him go. So I’m glad they are organized, because I don’t think … I’m not thinking through this entire process as well as I would have … having to see him go to school,” said Kim Hamm, parent of a Freshman.
Classes at ASU start Thursday.
