A babysitter has been arrested after police said he drove drunk with a 7-year-old boy on top of his car.

The Rochester Post-Bulletin reports that a witness saw Robert Christgau, 56, driving around in circles near his apartment building in Austin, Minn., with the boy on the roof of the car. The witness called police who said they found an open can of beer and discovered that Christgau had a blood alcohol level of 0.14. The state's legal blood alcohol level is 0.08.

Christgau allegedly left another 3-year-old boy inside the apartment unattended as he was driving the 7-year-old around.

Christgau appeared in court on Friday on a single count of third-degree driving while impaired and two counts of child neglect. He reportedly admitted to driving with the child on the roof while intoxicated.

Earlier this month, a mother pleaded guilty and spent five days in jail after letting her daughter ride in a cardboard box on top of their van . Jackie Knott admitted to endangering the welfare of her child.
