The man convicted of killing a Prescott couple for their boat will be sentenced Friday.

Tom and Jackie Hawks were thrown overboard.

FOX 10's Alexis Vance talked to their son about the sentencing.

Former child actor Skylar Deleon is said to be the mastermind who came up with the plot to rob and kill Tom and Jackie Hawks.

On Friday, he will be sentenced - it's up to the judge, but the jury recommends the death penalty.  We talked to Ryan Hawks, the couple's son, who lives in San Diego.  He says "It's not going to provide any different feelings for me, but justice will be served and I guess that's the most you could hope for."

The double murder happened in November 2004.  Since then, Tom and Jackie's sons have developed a web site where you can see pictures and follow their story.  A story that begins with a newspaper ad.

Tom and Jackie placed the ad in the paper to sell their boat, "Well Deserved."  They wanted to move to Arizona to spend more time with their new grandson in Prescott.

Their next adventure was being grandparents, they really wanted to play a strong role in his life, so they ultimately gave up their dream for their next dream, unfortunately that got cut short.

During a test drive, the couple was tied to an anchor and thrown overboard by Deleon and two others.  They've all been found guilty and once they're all sentenced, the family hopes to honor the one thing in Tom and Jackie's will - to throw them a party.

Ryan says "They didn't really want a memorial service, they didn't want to be recognized for their death more for their life, so they wanted a party, but of course it's not appropriate until all the sentencing is done, so hopefully, we'll be getting on with that toward the middle of the summer."
