Residents say this Laveen neighborhood is pretty quiet -- until a homeowner leads police to bust a drug stash house.

A man with the neighborhood watch was doing his rounds when he noticed some suspicious activity -- a rental van that had been driving around slowly.

"I looked out of my backyard and this spotlight was shining all over our backyard, so I came out front to see what was going on, about 15 police cars," says Andrew, who lives next door.

Police found weapons and 1,500 pounds of marijuana at the house. Craig Richards, 22, and Andrew White, 19, were booked into jail on marijuana charges and misconduct involving weapons. Two women, Sophia Plummer, 26, and Nicole Gordon, 26, were charged with possession of marijuana for sale.

"We have a great block watch. They patrol it in kind of a souped-up golf cart every night driving through the neighborhood making sure there are no problems with anything," says Andrew.

One man who just moved into the neighborhood says he's so impressed with the block watch group, he plans on joining it.
