PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. (AP) -- Authorities say a Prescott man has been arrested in a sexual misconduct case.

Prescott Valley police announced Thursday that 40-year-old Derek Robert Barnes has been booked into the Yavapai County Jail on suspicion of 14 counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

They say Barnes owns and operates a video store in Prescott Valley and a teenage girl was hired to assist with miscellaneous tasks.

Investigators were told that around November 2010 when the girl was 15, her relationship changed to a physical one with Barnes and the two allegedly had sexual contact several times a month.

Police learned of the situation Tuesday. Detectives executed a search warrant at Barnes' store Thursday and collected physical evidence and that led to Barnes' arrest. It's unclear whether he has legal representation yet.
