PRESCOTT VALLEY, Ariz. -- Police in Prescott Valley have arrested a 41-year-old man who they say was driving drunk and ran from them naked.

Friday about 9:30 p.m., a K-9 officer stopped a vehicle for a moving violation. The officer suspected the driver, 41-year-old Kenneth Hook, was under the influence of alcohol.

Hook was arrested for suspicion of DUI. While officers were bringing him in, he said he was having medical difficulties and needed to go to a hospital. He was released from custody to be treated by medical personnel.

After treatment, the officer went back to the hospital to finish his investigation. The officer says Hook was leaving the hospital wearing only his hospital gown. When the officer tried to stop him, he allegedly took off running.

The officer chased Hook on foot and that's when Hook apparently ran into a barbed wire fence at full sprint.

The suspect flipped over on the fence and his hospital gown ripped off his body and stuck on the fence. Police say he then stood up naked and took off into an open field.

The officer safely negotiated the fence and Hook was caught a short time later.

Hook was booked into the Yavapai County Jail on DUI charges.
