Victim, Suspect Identified in Gilbert Shooting

GILBERT - One man is dead and another man has been arrested following a robbery and an altercation in Gilbert Thursday night.

It happened at a Circle K near Rittenhouse and Power Rds about 7 p.m. Thursday. 21-year-old Stefen Selvy had just purchased alcohol when 36-year-old Bobby Baughman robbed him in the parking lot, according to police.

During the robbery, Baughman hit Selvy in the head with a wrench, and Selvy retaliated by getting a gun out of his vehicle and allegedly shooting Baughman.

Baughman was killed.

Selvy was arrested at the scene and booked on charges of second degree murder.

Gilbert Police detectives are investigating the circumstances leading up until the shooting and are talking to witnesses.
