A 30-year-old attempted burglary suspect has been arrested after leading police on a chase in the southeast valley.
Around 10:30 p.m. Thursday, Gilbert police interrupted an attempted burglary of a dental office. Police say 30-year-old Jacob Tanner fled in his vehicle and attempted to hit an officer's cruiser.
Tanner allegedly blew out a tire on a curb traveling north on Gilbert Road from Queen Creek. Officers deployed several stop sticks, before the driver sideswiped two vehicles stopped at the intersection of Gilbert and Guadalupe.
Police say Tanner then fled on foot, leaving his vehicle to crash into a wall. He entered a home in the 1500 block of N. Sunview Parkway.
When Tanner tried to leave the residence, police say Tanner refused to follow commands and concealed one hand. Officers deployed a bean bag round at him, and he was apprehended.
Tanner was taken to Banner Gateway and released, booked into the 4th Ave Jail on a $10,000 warrant, and charges of aggravated assault, burglary, criminal damage and numerous other offenses.
Angelic Acuna, the homeowner of the residence on Sunview Parkway, was arrested for hindering prosecution and false reporting to law enforcement, for allegedly attempting to conceal the fact that he was in her residence.
The relationship between Tanner and Acuna is not known.
