Seasonal Jobs Can Help a Permanent Job Search

Numbers are bleak for this year's holiday shopping season.  If you're hoping to land one of those seasonal jobs, you're in for some stiff competition.

62% of retailers are seeing more applications this year, but some of those stores will hire fewer employees.  Some companies are giving their existing staffers a first shot at picking up extra hours.  That's great news for those workers, but it means increased competition for anyone who wants to get in.

"You can find a lot of seasonal opportunities in the retail field as well as those around colder temperatures," says Theresa Maher with Jobing.com.

FOX 10's Alexis Vance has some tips to help you stand out in the crowd.
